What is an HIE

Physician FAQs

  • Who owns the data?

Physicians, valuing a trusted physician-patient relationship, are in complete control of the data. With OnePartner HIE, physicians choose what information they want to share and who they want to share it with.

  • Where is the data hosted?

The data is hosted at OnePartner ATAC, one of the world's few Tier III commercial data centers.

  • Will my EHR work with OnePartner HIE?

One of the greatest aspects of joining OnePartner HIE is that it provides the technology to connect a variety of EHR systems through translated and normalized data to ensure proper handling of the data to enable improved patient care.

  • What if I don't have an EHR?

That's not a problem. We can work with you to help you select an EHR. Funding models are available that often provide affordable EHR systems. Please contact us to see if you qualify.

  • Who is able to join OnePartner HIE? Do I qualify?

Yes, you do qualify. Hospitals, doctor's groups, assisted living facilities, ancillary service providers - everyone - is welcome. Unlike some HIE's that are exclusive, ours is completely inclusive.

  • What type of installation & technical support do you provide?

OnePartner HIE is a complete, fully-supported package. We provide installation, training and 24-hour help-desk support.

  • Are there package options?

Yes. With OnePartner HIE, you get as much or as little as you want. If you have an existing EHR and simply want to join the HIE, you can. If you are starting from scratch and need both an EHR and you want to join the HIE, we can also help you with that.

  • Will OnePartner HIE achieve "Meaningful Use"?

Yes, OnePartner HIE is a certified EHR technology capable of meeting the meaningful use objectives as defined by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Incentive Programs.

Patient FAQs

  • Is my healthcare information secure or is it sitting "out on the internet" for everyone to see?

Your healthcare information is highly-secure. In fact, it's much more secure being shared over OnePartner HIE than it would be if were being sent by mail or by fax.

With OnePartner HIE, we're able to provide you and your primary care provider complete control over who you allow to access your health information. Further, OnePartner HIE allows you and your provider to review audit reports of each healthcare provider who has accessed your records. If your health information were stored in a paper chart in the back room of an office, you'd never have any record as to who is accessing your information.

  • How does my participation in OnePartner HIE benefit me?

Have you ever had difficulty telling your provider the name of a test or a recent medication another doctor prescribes? Have you or a loved one ever been rushed to the emergency room and unable to respond to questions from a nurse or physician such as, "Are you allergic to any medications?" By participating in OnePartner HIE, your healthcare provider has access to all of the information needed to make important and sometimes, life-defining decisions.

Your participation is allowing your healthcare provider to have all the necessary tools and information at their fingertips to better care for you.

  • I would prefer that my information not be shared over OnePartner HIE. What do I do?

We encourage you to talk with your primary care provider about the benefits of your participation in OnePartner HIE. If you decide that you would like to "opt out" of participation, your provider will be able to assist you.

  • I have questions about OnePartner HIE. Who do I contact?

If you have questions about OnePartner HIE, you may email us at info@onepartner.com.
