OnePartner, EMBARQ announce Tier III data center connectivity

DUFFIELD, VA, - OnePartner today announced the availability of their high-availability business continuance, disaster recovery and colocation services, enabled significantly by a key partnership with EMBARQ to provide the needed highly reliable network access to deliver these services.

"Metro Ethernet provided by EMBARQ provides a direct connection to OnePartner's Tier III Advanced Technology & Applications Center (ATAC)," said Kathy Feagins, EMBARQ account executive. "We see great potential for a resource like the OnePartner ATAC, coupled with our Metro Ethernet, to highlight our region's infrastructure and draw additional businesses. It also fills a crucial role in the increasing automation our clients are putting in place."

A Tier III center provides multiple active power and cooling distribution paths, has redundant components, and is concurrently maintainable to ensure high availability. The Uptime Institute ( created the Tier classification system as a benchmark for reliable data center infrastructure design.

"The OnePartner ATAC in Duffield currently is the sole U.S. company providing outsourced commercial data center services (including colocation and disaster recovery) that has been awarded a Tier III Design Certification by the Uptime Institute," said Julian Kudritzki, certification manager of The Uptime Institute.
